I love Sprint’s service. Have for years. Few billing issues, great coverage in MN. However, I have wanted to upgrade my phone for awhile now and it’s been frustrating. Here is what I really need: a good phone wiht a decent camera which can transfer pictures to my puter.
My first trial was with the new HLC Mogul. It’s a cool phone. Only of the only Sprint phones with built-in WiFi. it’s got a 2.0 MP camera, Windows Mobile 6, mini-SD card, full QWERTY keyboard, etc. But it’s 300$, and you basically need the 15$/month sprint Vision pack to use all features. If you’re a super geek who needs access to Outlook, mobile office apps like excel, word, full keyboard…get this phone. It’s nice. But i’m not looking for all that shit right now, so I took it back. Oh, I had some issues with it. It wouldn’t save some of my preferences for notifications so I was bombarded with New Email notifications every 10 minutes. And surfing the web was kinda painful compared to the iPhone. It doesn’t come with flash installed, and I couldn’t figure out how to install flash in under 10 minutes on my laptop, so I gave up.

Well, the quality is up to the viewer, but here’s my take on the Sunday morning TV shows.
I’m not a huge TV guy at all. But I’m a big fan of Sunday morning TV and news reading via internet. I usually drink half a pot of coffee while doing this. Back in my single days it was a bigger event where I had the luxury of investing even more time.
Meet the press with Tim Russert – MUST SEE. This show is a great way to start of the week. Tim usually has extremely knowledgeable guests and interesting questions to ask him. This morning Hillary Clinton has bombarded with questions regarding her flip-flopping on the Iraq war. Tim pwned her with a few video clips and quotes showing her change in stance. Not 5 minutes after Hillary was off the show, Alan Greenspan was talking about his new book “The Age of Turbulence: Adventures in a New World”. A co-worker of mine is having issues getting through this book because it was “boring”. I guess thinking about Alan Greenspan, former chairman of the Federal Reserve, it does seem like that book would be a snooze-fest, but after his interview I might pick up a copy. Russert pointed to a recent quote of Greenspan: “I think Bill Clinton was the best Republican president we’ve had in a while.” Greenspan responded by saying many of his stances on free trade, globalization, welfare reform and fiscal restraint coincided with Republican values versus Democratic. On a side note, Greenspan is married to Adrian Mitchell, a NBC reporter. They joked about the first date in which Greenspan brought Mitchell back to his apartment to read an essay he wrote about monopolies. Not a move i’ve ever heard about….
C-SPAN – Washington Journal. this show is too cool to miss out on. Always interesting debates, add live callers with stupid or smart comments, you have an entertaining show. Pretty much anything C-SPAN rocks though, not just WJ. Steve, you’ll understand some day.
Evangelical Religious Shows. How does this carry the quality theme? Entertainment, not content. I can’t help NOT to watch these shows. Today I was lucky enough to catch a local ministry hosted by Mac Hammond. This was spectacular. Mac and his wife Lynne seem to be 2 down to earth faithful folks trying to guide people in the right direction. While watching the show I googled “Mac Hammond” to find many, many accusations of IRS related issues. According to City Page the Living Word Christian Center’s annual report states the church collected $24,047,130 in contributions in 2005. I can’t seem to find the report anywhere on the internets. But, WOW, I’m in the wrong industry. This horse’s ass babbles on for an hour on Sundays and brings in $450,000. Dang G.
So morale of the story…check out TV on Sunday mornings next week with a tall cup of coffee and a computer. You’re missing out on some good stuff.

Earl and Kathy Wolleat were off on another adventure this week. This time it was a Airstream park, one of a few in the nation. On Mother’s day, Earl bought Kathy a 19′ Pacer which is in stellar shape. The inside is remodeled with Classic Coca-cola memorabilia, twin size bed, dining table, stove, toilet and more. So Heidi, Earla, R.J., Brint and I headed to Clearwater to meet up with them in this truly unique park.
I’ve only seen a handful of Airstreams up until today when I saw 40-50 within a 1 mile radius. This Airstream-only park off highway 10 has tons of cool amenities: swimming pool, golf course, horseshoes, tennis court, activity center, clubhouse, and WiFi!!!!!!!!!!! Their site is kinda old school, but shows how sweet the facility is. It’s a peaceful, quiet campground site with beautiful oaks surrounding every site.
I snapped a bunch of pics from my new Sanyo Katana II phone only to find out the bluetooth doesn’t send pictures….just business cards and contacts. Oh well, back to the drawing board for a new phone…that’s a whole other post.
Check out the pics!

For the last week or so, our cable internet service has reached an all time low. I’ve had enough with this asses so I decided to give Qwest DSL a try. Box came in mail today, setup was ridiculously easy. Their modems have built in wi-fi adapters and a router so it would be perfect if you don’t need lan connections.
The connection is okay, a little over 1MB. Much less than the 2.5 I was getting with Charter, but at least I won’t have a week of no internet again. Even our TV signal is bad now, looks worse than bunny ears on the major network channels. Pathetic.
So long Charter, it’s been fun. We can stay in touch via ilovecharterNOT.com. I plan on getting this up for people to bitch about charter, god knows there are a million other unhappy customers out there.
